Population-Level Infectious Disease Risk Modeling from Mobility and Reproductive Health Indicators

The mitigation of infectious disease outbreaks relies heavily on the accuracy and comprehensiveness of population-level risk models. Historically, epidemiological models have relied on fundamental demographic data and basic assumptions regarding population mixing. However, the complex nature of modern global societies necessitates the integration of non-traditional data streams to capture the true dynamics of disease transmission. This paper presents a comprehensive conceptual framework for modeling infectious disease risk by synthesizing human mobility data with reproductive health indicators. Human mobility networks dictate the spatial propagation of pathogens, while reproductive health indicators serve as profound proxies for underlying socioeconomic vulnerability, healthcare infrastructure resilience, and systemic health disparities. By exploring the theoretical intersections of these two diverse domains, this study argues that incorporating reproductive health metrics into spatial interaction models significantly enhances the stratification of risk, particularly in identifying highly vulnerable communities prior to an outbreak climax. Through a detailed methodological blueprint and simulated outcome analysis, this paper demonstrates how health system access, represented by maternal and reproductive health data, modulates the susceptibility parameters within traditional mobility-driven transmission frameworks. The findings underscore the critical need for interdisciplinary data integration to formulate equitable, targeted, and proactive public health interventions.
