Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Social Sciences, Humanities and Innovation (JSSHI) follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the research it publishes. The key components of our peer review policy are outlined below:
-
Double-Blind Peer Review:
JSSHI uses a double-blind peer review process, meaning that both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept anonymous throughout the review process. This approach ensures an unbiased evaluation based on the quality and relevance of the manuscript rather than the identity or affiliation of the authors or reviewers. -
Initial Screening:
Upon submission, all manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to check for compliance with the journal’s scope and submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements or are found to be outside the scope of JSSHI are rejected at this stage. -
Selection of Reviewers:
After passing the initial screening, manuscripts are assigned to two or more qualified reviewers who are experts in the field of study covered by the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their subject matter expertise and experience with similar research topics. The journal strives to involve reviewers who have a demonstrated track record of academic scholarship. -
Review Criteria:
Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:-
Relevance and significance of the research to the field of social sciences, humanities, and innovation.
-
Originality and novelty of the research.
-
Soundness of the methodology and data analysis.
-
Clarity and structure of the writing.
-
Contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the relevant field.
-
Adherence to ethical guidelines and proper referencing.
-
-
Timely Review Process:
The peer review process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript. JSSHI strives to ensure that the review process is efficient and provides constructive feedback to authors in a timely manner. -
Decision Making:
Based on the feedback from reviewers, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:-
Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without revisions or with minimal revisions.
-
Revise and Resubmit: The manuscript requires revisions, and the author is invited to resubmit the revised version for further review.
-
Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards or the reviewers' recommendations, and it is not suitable for publication in JSSHI.
-
-
Revisions:
If a manuscript is requested for revision, authors are provided with detailed feedback from the reviewers and editors. Authors are expected to address all comments and suggestions, making the necessary changes to improve the manuscript before resubmission. The revised manuscript is then re-evaluated by the reviewers. -
Final Decision:
After considering the revised manuscript and reviewer feedback, the editorial team makes the final decision. If accepted, the manuscript moves to the production phase. -
Confidentiality:
The peer review process is confidential. Reviewers are expected to respect the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review and not share any details of the manuscript with third parties. Similarly, authors must not contact reviewers directly. -
Ethical Standards:
JSSHI upholds the highest ethical standards in the peer review process. Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest, and manuscripts should not be plagiarized or include falsified data. The journal adheres to ethical guidelines for authorship, conflicts of interest, and research integrity.
