Abstract

The philosophy of aesthetics examines the nature of beauty, art, and taste, and explores how individuals perceive and experience the aesthetic qualities of objects, events, and environments. The concept of beauty in art has evolved significantly over the centuries, influenced by cultural, social, and philosophical shifts. This article traces the evolution of beauty in art and culture, from classical ideals of beauty rooted in ancient Greece to contemporary understandings that challenge traditional notions of aesthetics. By examining key philosophical movements, including Classicalism, Romanticism, Modernism, and Postmodernism, we explore how each has shaped our perception of beauty in art. The article also reflects on the role of aesthetics in contemporary Pakistani art and culture, offering insights into how global and local movements intersect in the realm of beauty. Through this analysis, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolving philosophy of aesthetics and its significance in both global and Pakistani cultural contexts.
